Carbon Reduction

NZC Services was set up in 2020 by John Moore to provide expert advice, based on hard won practical experience, to companies and organisations working towards net zero Carbon. He works with a number of associates when needed to deliver larger projects or to bring in particular specialisms from his extensive network in low Carbon technology.

Carbon Education

Kathy Moore has recently joined to provide expert advice and support for heritage organisations in environmental responsibility, learning and engagement in climate, biodiversity and science.

John Moore, FIMechE, MIE, Director

John has over 35 years' experience working in high technology engineering, the last 15 years in renewable energy, with a focus on community scale renewables and distributed energy systems.

John's technical expertise in renewable electricity generation includes solar PV, wind and storage and covers both the development of these technologies and their application in the field. He is an expert in decarbonisation strategies and has developed many heat decarbonisation and retrofit schemes. 

John has also worked as an assessor and monitorong officer for a number of government grant schemes in innovation, decarbonisation and retro-fitting. 

Kathy Moore, BA, PGCE, Director

Kathy trained as a science teacher and mostly taught A level Biology, Environmental Science and Psychology. For the last 17 years she has worked in Museum Learning and in Museum Development. She created and delivered a wide variety of heritage learning activities supporting Maths, History and Science learning for schools and families, including A level conferences on Biodiversity and Psychology. With SHARE Museums East, Kathy supported museums with Audience Development and Learning work and Culture Recovery Funding.

Kathy has always been passionate about the Climate and Nature Crises has recently been able to address these more in directly in her work. She is a Carbon Literacy trainer and Environmental Responsibility Champion and Deputy Chair of GEM (Group for Education in Museums)
